▶What's the difference between RTO and RPO?
RTO = Recovery Time Objective (how long systems can be down). RPO = Recovery Point Objective (how much data loss is acceptable). Example: RTO = 4 hours, RPO = 1 hour means you'll be down max 4 hours and lose at most 1 hour of data.
▶How do I design a DR plan?
1) Map critical systems. 2) Define RTO/RPO for each. 3) Calculate cost of downtime. 4) Design recovery strategy (backup, replication, failover, etc.). 5) Build infrastructure. 6) Test regularly. 7) Document and train.
▶What's the difference between backup and replication?
