Extraverted Sensing (Se)
A Jungian cognitive function that experiences present-moment sensations, actions, and external stimuli. Se users are adaptable, action-oriented, and live in the here-and-now.
Extraverted Sensing (Se) focuses externally on immediate sensations, physical experiences, and present reality. Se-users are the "realists of the moment", they notice what's happening now and respond with action.
Characteristics: high sensory awareness, physically active and athletic, adaptable to changing conditions, lives in the present moment, seeks exciting experiences. They can get distracted by stimulation, struggle with long-term planning, or become impulsive.
In Myers-Briggs, Se is the primary function for ESTP and ESFP types. Se with Introverted Thinking (Ti) creates the "entrepreneur", tactical, adaptable, quick to respond (think fighter pilots, traders). Se with Introverted Feeling (Fi) creates the "entertainer", fun-loving, spontaneous, people-focused. Se-users excel in roles requiring quick reactions, physical skill, and real-time adaptation (sports, performance, emergency response, sales).
